The Personnel Section is responsible for processing applications that are received. The application process is complex and lengthy with several phases including an aptitude test and background investigation, but has allowed for the highest quality of personnel to be hired. Commonly, jailer, dispatcher, and patrol deputy positions have a high turnover rate. For this reason, the Sheriff’s Office has continuous postings for these positions. This allows the Sheriff’s Office to create eligibility lists to fill vacancies quickly.
